Perma “R” Products, Grenada, Miss., manufactures building supply products, but like many of us, pivoted when they realized that some of these products could easily be used for PPE and aid in the COVID-19 crisis. Perma "R" Products manufactures two different types of fabric for the PPE, both being good for Type I, II surgical gowns and are currently in testing for Type III. The two materials are: • Nonwoven with barrier is the most typical used. It is soft and comfortable but not as durable as the other product. The nonwoven with barrier is in the price range of $.80/sq yd in master rolls. • Woven fabric with barrier is much less expensive at a price range of $.48/sq yd and is more durable as it will hold up to 12 or more cycles of washing and drying. This is our most popular product. The raw material (woven substrate) for this product comes to our processing plant in Adel, Ga., from India, South Korea and Canada.
